This art is created to encourage respect for life and kindness towards animals. Inspired by Tokugawa Tsunayoshi, the Edo-era shogun remembered as the Dog Shogun, this artwork draws from the Shōrui Awaremi no Rei (The Laws of Compassion for Living Things).

These laws became one of history’s earliest actions aimed at animal welfare. Accompanied by his companions, Inu Kubō stands as a symbol of guardianship, loyalty, and compassion.
